Most people walk past our counter at 210 – 10 Chaparral Drive SE without knowing what’s behind it: a working compounding lab, right here in the Chaparral community. As the compounding pharmacy in Chaparral, SE Calgary, Chaparral Compounding Pharmacy – Remedy’sRx fills all your regular prescriptions like any pharmacy — and when your prescriber orders it, our pharmacists prepare medication made to fit you.
What our compounding lab can do, with a prescription
Compounded medications are prepared only on the order of a licensed prescriber — a physician, nurse practitioner, dentist or veterinarian. Within that, the lab gives your prescriber options a factory bottle can’t:
Flavouring for kids. When a child refuses every spoonful, treatment stalls. Many medications can be flavoured — strawberry, banana, bubblegum and more — so the dose actually goes down.
Pet-friendly forms. Cats that fight pills, dogs that spit them out, small animals that need tiny doses. With your veterinarian’s prescription we prepare flavoured liquids, small capsules and other forms sized for your pet. Vets can fax 587-387-2932.
Allergen-aware preparations. Reacting to what’s around the medicine — dyes, gluten, lactose, certain fillers — rather than the medicine itself? Tell us what you need to avoid and our pharmacists will review what’s possible.
Different forms and strengths. A cream or gel instead of a capsule, a liquid instead of a tablet, a strength that isn’t manufactured — your prescriber chooses, our lab prepares it, and every preparation leaves with storage instructions and a beyond-use date.
