Update about the flu/influenza shots for the 2022-2023 season:
If you live in Calgary, AB, Chaparral Pharmacy is pleased to announce that the flu/influenza shot will be available on Monday, October 17, 2022.

**Per the AHS, adults can get their flu shot with any COVID-19 vaccine or booster at the same time! Kids 5 to 11 old need to wait for 14 days.

Important update (March 1, 2022):
For those wishing to book their covid vaccine in Calgary, AB, effective March 1, 2022, Chaparral Pharmacy is pleasured to be selected by the AHS to be one of the few pharmacies offering the covid vaccine for both adults (Pfizer or Moderna) and kids (5 to 11 years old are only offered Pfizer based on the Alberta Health Services’ directions.
We welcome all Calgarians and their kids to get their vaccines at our pharmacy location in Calgary.

Important update: Both Pfizer & Moderna vaccines are now available for the first, second and booster doses beginning January 22, 2022.
New segments of Albertans are now eligible to book their COVID vaccine in Calgary (Third Dose / Booster):
As of December 1, 2021, the Government of Alberta has announced an expansion of eligibility for booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (Both Pfizer and Moderna are now available) to eventually include all adults 18 years of age and older, with a minimum spacing of six months after the last dose of the initial vaccine series.
Based on the vaccine supply, the initial roll-out will begin with those aged 60 and older (eligibility based on birth date and be at least six (6) months after the date of administration of their second dose) and will expand to lower age groups when vaccine supply allows.

Effective Monday, November 8, 2021, Chaparral Pharmacy, located in Calgary South East, will be providing the following groups of Albertans will be eligible for a third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least six (6) months after the date of administration of their second dose.
- Albertan’s age 70 and older.
- First Nations, Métis and Inuit people aged 18 and older live on or off a reserve or on or off a settlement.
- Healthcare workers who have direct in-person contact with patients and received their second dose of vaccine less than eight (8) weeks after their first.
- Those who received a full series of viral vector vaccines (two doses of AstraZeneca or one dose of Janssen vaccine).
Also, effective June 1, 2021, Chaparral Pharmacy, located in Calgary South East, is accepting both first and second Pfizer vaccine reservations for residents of Calgary, Airdrie, De Winton, and the surrounding areas and communities:
- All those vaccinated in MARCH are eligible to book their second dose on June 1, 2021.
- All those vaccinated in APRIL are eligible to book their second dose on June 14, 2021.
- All those vaccinated in MAY are eligible to book their second dose on June 28, 2021.
Based on the health recommendations of the Public Health authorities in Canada and Alberta, those who received their AstraZeneca vaccine as their first dose are ELIGIBLE to get the Pfizer vaccine as their second dose. Chaparral Pharmacy offers the Pfizer vaccine.
All Albertans and Calgarians aged 12 and over who wish to be immunized according to the above schedule will be able to receive their first or second dose.
As is required for all immunization appointments for any Calgarian or Albertan, personal identification that contains a birth date must be presented, such as an Alberta Health Care Card, Driver’s License or Passport.
According to the most recent guidelines from the Government of Alberta and the Alberta Health Services, you are now required to register on the central government website that handles all vaccination reservation requests. Please reserve your vaccine appointment at:
